What can I say? I’m a sucker for a lazy girl beauty buy. BB cream? You better believe I’m here for it. Mascara that curls and lengthens? Gimme. So when Benefit launched their “They’re Real!” lip-liner and lipstick in one range you just know I was all kinds of excited for it. I mean, who even really has time for lip liner, amirite?
“They’re Real” is this all about the one step swipe to fuller, sexier lips. With a narrow applicator for precise application, each lipstick has a darker lip liner within that you can work round the lip as you apply your lipstick. Pretty simple right? With the promise of 8 hour wear, it’s pretty much perfect when you need a quick beauty fix (getting a full face on in 10 minutes or under is goals for mornings right?)
The Big Sexy Lip kit is a little taster kit with 4 of the 8 shades from the range including Flame Game, Pink Thrills, Revved up Red and Lusty Rose. It’s a nice diverse range of classic colours that are likely to suit most skin tones. You’ve got a beautiful bright orange (flame game), a true blue red (revved up red), a beautiful neutral rose tea (Lusty Rose) and a vibrant fuchsia (pink thrills.) I’m a liquid lipstick addict so the more satin and rich formula definitely knocked me for six. The colour pay off is nice, but I found it worked across the pinker colours better. The finish is more satiny and while long lasting, is not a look that I find works for myself. Pink Thrills is easily my favourite – it’s super fun, flirty and coats the lips evenly.
The application is easy and smoothe, the colours are great, and it’s a nice,. easy way to fake fuller lips in a rush. I’m utterly useless with a lip liner (straight lines? what are those) so the ease of application is a real winner for me. The They’re Real!
