When you think of wardrobe basics it’s hard not to evoke an eye roll so prounced you see the back of your head. It’s fashion 101. A good pair of jeans, a classic tee,the little black dress, and while all of these things are great staples, style is fluid and staples should (and do) vary person to person. For me that means wide legged cropped trousers, satchel bags and contemporary tailoring. It’s about finding what feels good.

I’ve always been more about shapes than colour so when buying for Summer it’s been more about the silouette and structure, and the fact everything can be layered up with minimal effort. I still love novelty bags and patterns and texture but right now it’s about investing in things that feel that little bit more polished. It’s less about pretty fashion than feel good fashion. Glove shoes, wide legs and crazy prints might not fit in to any traditional definitions of sexy, though it’s a style that makes me hold my held a little bit higher. And that’s part of the journey really, dressing for you and finding out what makes you fall in love with your wardrobe – and maybe yourself – a little bit more everyday.
