LFW AW16 Holly Fulton

There are few shows I look forward to as much as Holly Fulton’s.  For AW16 we see her continued use of billowy silhouettes and deconstructed paisley all paired back with a muted colour palette. Citing artist David Inshaw as a primary influence for the collection lending to a surreal and dreamlike feel for the collection. With outerwear taking centre stage with lots of soft flowing lines  Fulton’s AW16 has all the hallmarks of her trademark cool girl elegance.

The influence of Inshaw is felt throughout with the hazy colour palette, with “The Badminton Game” as a key reference. The monochrome base is accented by olives, chocolate browns and tea roses all finished with a flourish of embroidered swarovski crystals.   Parkas, cable knits and long coats are given the Fulton treatment for Winter mixing intricate geometric designs with a contemporary take on paisley print.  The rounded sleeves, velvet jumpsuits and exaggerated skirts are a form of easy glamour with this easily wearable collection.  Everything feels effortless in yet another beautifully designed collection.
