At Winter I have to fight the urge to default in to jeans and hoodies. The thing is, with shorter days, longer nights and a good deal of frost, it’s easy to loose your fashion mojo. It feels easier to just put on my comfiest pjs and reaquaint myself with festive fancy cheeses, but then I’d be loosing out on an excuse to dress up. It doesn’t always mean having to get a new wardrobe, but a few finsihing touches always help. Old classics make a welcome return for the season (they are classics for a reason) and I’m convinced any outfit is given a new joie de vivre with lashings of red lipstick and a statement heel.

Feeling like you have nothing to wear is a chronic problem, especially at this time of year but when the purse strings are tightened, you just need to invest carefully in some great accessorise. My wooden watch from Kochiba freshens up any look and has all the traits of a timeless accessory. I love something that’s oversized and the metallic finishing touches, but the real selling point for me is that a portion of the profits go to WomanKind. A neon heel makes everything feel a little bit more contempoary especially when you’re layering and mixing classic staples (I truly believe everone should have a high waisted pair of checked trousers in their wardrobe.)
It doesn’t always have to be sequins and sparkle (though there is always that time for too), sometimes it’s about going back to basics and falling in love with your wardrobe once more.
