Colour for Christmas Party Dressing

Winter party dressing sees a steady rotation of heavy embelishment and jewel tones and in theory I should be in my element. As long as I can remember my wardrobe has resembled that of a giant bruise, meaning it’s ripe for the party picking. Over the years, I’ve managed to hoard (because let’s not pretend there is any art to it, I’m a clothes hoarder) an array of party dresses ranging from sheer polka dots to fully sequined gowns. However when you live in dark colours year round, sometimes it’s nice to inject a bit more colour for the party season.

Top – M&S
Necklace – John and Pearl
Dress – Boden
Shoes – Topshop
Bag – Luna on the Moon

I love any excuse to dress up, so in December I’m either decked out in
full glitter or in some pjs so having a few key pieces that I can rewear
again and again are essential.  Solid basics like a beaded party dress and roll neck can be lifted with some fun accessory pops. My Boden beaded dress has
been on a steady rotation this party season, easily transitioning from
day to night with the right pair of heels. I’m a firm believer everyone should own a Luna on the Moon bag, it injects a bit of fun in to any outfit and I can’t wait to continue to grow my collection (fingers crossed for either the cake or the milk bottle this year.)

I can’t wait for Christmas. It’s the bear and I’s first as a married couple and I can’t wait to watch Christmas movies and eat snacks with my best guy. It’s been a wonderful year and this will be a lovely round off to it all. I hope you guys have a great festive season and see you on the other side!
