“Want to take part in a style challenge?” The premise sounds simple enough. 5 bloggers over 5 nights, each with 3 manequins to style up and one hour to pull the looks together. It pretty much sounds like my bread and butter and I’m signing on the figurative dotted line before I know it. I promptly ignore the voice in my head that reminds me I’ve never done anything like this before. Ever. Hell, I have enough trouble getting myself dressed in the morning and my entire retail experience can be summarised as a brief Summer in a comic book shop. But then again, how often do you get to take over a window on one of the busiest shopping streets in Scotland?
To celebrate Glasgow stores new late opening hours (7pm every week night, most open till 8pm Thursday), Buchanan Galleries have invited 5 bloggers to create their Spring looks every night this week. Add a countdown complete with ominous ticking clock and you’ve got the Late Night Style challenge. And guess who’s up first?
Tonight I’ll be doing my level best to pull together 3 womenwear looks. In an hour. I’ve got some bloody amazing stores to choose from. I can’t quite tell if this is a good thing or bad thing quite yet. I’ve managed to blackmail,bribe and beg a few friends to be on hand with safety pins, soothing words and second opinions (#teambeewaits) to help me get through it. An hour isn’t a particularly long time to do anything but knowing I’m working to a time limit is part of the fun!
