Day 5 of One Month One Dress and today needed something for a spot of furniture shopping. I don’t drive so it’s safe to say ikea is out (out of range and out of budget) so naturally a wee spot of charity shopping was on the cards. The West End is easily my fave place to pick up a bargain. I always love to creep in at the Partick Cross Salvation Army. It is a total treasure trove of gorgeous vintage furniture at dirt cheap prices. I may have left it a bit late as the few pieces my heart went full on swoon for were already sold. They tend to get new stock in on Saturday mornings so best to head down early, though you may have to lock heads with some antiques dealers. I’m looking for a couple of bookcases (or really pretty cabinets) and a coffee table. They had some gorgeous sideboards and dressing tables that I’m pretty sure are going to haunt me but I can’t pretend for a second they would fit in my wee flat without ripping out fixtures first. The prices tend to be around £10-£50 (sometimes a wee bit more for dining tables) so totally pocket friendly. The boy and I will be making some adventures up there soon as walking around the flat is become a bit precarious thanks to book towers and our vinyls pretty much stacked on any surface available.
Have you got any places you like to creep for furniture on a budget?
