Earning your stripes: Embracing the Bardot with a Bust

I think I'd all but resigned myself to never getting to embrace the bardot trend because, well, y'know, I got them heavy boobs.  Seriously though, there's many trends that I often find myself sifting in to the big old NOPE pile because quite frankly, gravity isn't on my side and with the wrong cut I can look a little matronly. But I was determined to make this one work. I needed a no brainer Summer dress and this little guy from Zara was perfect, off the shoulder and all.

Bonnie Bling: This is Not a Flashback

This isn't a throwback, this is new Bonnie Bling. Bonnie Bling is officially back making a much overdue return to the Scottish fashion scene with her latest collection of iconic laser cut jewellery. Inspired heavily by 80s kitsch, the Flashback Summer collection sees the Scottish jeweller return to form  featuring everything from over sized chevron and neon tiling to 2D pussy bows and cheese plants.

Super Kawaii: Japanese Make-Up Treats to Track Down

Something about Japan just gets under your skin. There's no place quite like it. It's uncommon for a place not to only meet your expectations (which were high) but exceed them. Part of the appeal while I was over was tracking down some super cute Japanese beauty products - particularly the 20th Anniversary Sailor Moon goodies that I have been obsessing about for years at this point. It was time to dust off my inner magical girl and go on the ultimate beauty pilgrimage around Tokyo and build the cutest make-up bag known to man.

Swimming with Mermaids

For some people searching for the perfect pair of jeans fill them with dread. For me it's swimwear.  And to the surprise of utterly no-one (except for you magical body-confident unicorns out there, teach me your secrets) I'm not alone. Hell, even the idea of trying on swimwear makes me feel sick. I have had the same plaid two piece for near enough 7 years. While some would say this would be testament to Scottish weather (partially) and my on again off again love affair with swimming (also a little bit true) it really comes down to how much I hate swimwear shopping. Now swimwear is basically like publicly acceptable lingerie, so it should be my main jam, but when you're feeling less than body confident, well it kind of sucks the fun out of it.  So with my confidence at an all time low, it was time to retire the old two piece (seriously guys 7 YEARS) and experiment with some vintage inspired swimwear.

Lush Spa: Tales of Bath

One thing to know about the Lush Spa is it's more about experiences than treatments. If you're looking for your deep tissue followed by an afternoon tea in fluffy towels you won't find it here. What you can expect is a truly transformative journey, fully realised and encompassing all the senses that will leave you floating along the street.  "Tales of Bath" is the latest addition to the Lush Spa repertoire, unlike any other treatment I've ever had. Flowing, restorative and perhaps even a little bit magical, Tales of Bath takes inspiration from the city of Bath, the healing power of baths and fairytales, featuring, you guessed it, baths.

The beauty products that are the foundation (often literally) of our make up routine.  Beauty bag basics are such a difficult thing to nail, but when done right you end up adding them to your shopping bag time and time again.   My day to day make up has a few stand out products that are never out my handbag and are the benchmark for my best beauty buys.
