Best of 2015 Black and Blue and Grey all over

The end of the year gives us times to look back on the progress we've made, reaffirm what's worked, learn and set intentions for the year ahead. Looking back at 2015, there is a definitive trend to my wardrobe. To the suprise of utterly nobody, it's dominated by black and blue. I've stated before my wardrobe is akin to a bruise, but it's something else to see it all laid out in black and white (and

Colour for Christmas Party Dressing

Winter party dressing sees a steady rotation of heavy embelishment and jewel tones and in theory I should be in my element. As long as I can remember my wardrobe has resembled that of a giant bruise, meaning it's ripe for the party picking. Over the years, I've managed to hoard (because let's not pretend there is any art to it, I'm a clothes hoarder) an array of party dresses ranging from sheer polka dots to fully sequined gowns. However when you live in dark colours year round, sometimes it's nice to inject a bit more colour for the party season.

I'm dreaming of a Lushmas: Lush Winter Wonderland

With only three more sleeps to Christmas the bulk of the Christmas shopping is done and under the tree. Online shopping deadlines are coming to a close, but there is still time to pick up some last minute treats. The refuge of the last minute shopper has often been toiletries, grabbed in a panic from the drugstore shelves, but this isn't your ordinary bath set. Every year Lush release some of the best gift sets on the high street, and Winter Wonderland is the ultimate in bath time decadance for any Lush lover. Hell, even the uninitiated will find something to love in this box set.

Gift Guide for The Hard to Buy For

There's one in every family, someone who is near impossible to buy for.  They buy what they want when they want it making it near impossible to treat them to something special. More often than naught, it's these tricky customers that often have us panic buying wine and chocolates. While always solid options, why not suprise that special someone with something they'll really be excited to unwrap? It's time to buckle up and hunker down with the best buys for the hardest to shop for.

Wooden Watches and Pizza Pies

At Winter I have to fight the urge to default in to jeans and hoodies. The thing is, with shorter days, longer nights and a good deal of frost, it's easy to loose your fashion mojo. It feels easier to just put on my comfiest pjs and reaquaint myself with festive fancy cheeses, but then I'd be loosing out on an excuse to dress up. It doesn't always mean having to get a new wardrobe, but a few finsihing touches always help. Old classics make a welcome return for the season (they are classics for a reason) and I'm convinced any outfit is given a new joie de vivre with lashings of red lipstick and a statement heel.

Take 5: Gift for your Best Guys

Picking up gifts for the gents in your life can be a tricky business, especially when you don't want to just default to the old classics of socks and wine. Shopping for my ladies has always been relatively easy as it's always some variation of what I'd like for myself.  When shopping for dads, best guys, husbands, boyfriends, the lot, it can become a little tougher to work out. However there are some no brainers that make perfect presents for any man in your life, and I've rounded up my favourites.

Winter Layering: A Refresher In Dressing For Cold Weather

I've almost become a parody of myself. That person that's always cold? That's me. Slips, tights, blankets and heaters are on a near constant rotation and my daily dressing is but a couple of steps from going full on Joey.  It's taken a while to learn the fine art of layering (or, for the realists out there, how to dress without looking like a potato or freezing your tits off) but I think I've finally got it down, and it turns out it there was more to it than "lots of light layers." It's hardly reinventing the wheel, but unless you're one of those fashion unicorns that can go through Winter without feeling the cold, it's always good to reaquaint yourself with some tried and tested tips.

Pets in Windows: Supporting SSPCA with Everest

It's easy to get carried away with a flurry of party dresses and gift guides as the festive season settles in, but sometimes it's good to step back and think of those who aren't as fortunate as us.  Bear and I have built a wonderful home with our little fur baby and do everything we can to make sure she is healthy, happy and loved.  Not all animals are as lucky. Fortunately, there are some amazing charities doing wonderful work. and even better, companies who want to do their bit to keep the fur bugs well loved year round.

Everest Windows are running a campaign this year asking people to share their #petsinwindows with the chance to win £50 work of John Lewis vouchers. So far, so cute right? Well here's the real clincher, for every entry they get for the #petsinwindows campaign, Everest Windows have committed to donating £5 to Scottish SPCA.  Oh and the team at Everest Windows have teamed up with Bee Waits to give you a second chance at those £50 vouchers. YOU ARE VERY WELCOME.

A Gift Guide for Your Cutie Pie of a BFF

Christmas is without a doubt my favourite time of the year. I love putting up the tree, buying in advent calenders, making up stockings and yeah, buying and wrapping gifts. My favourite people to buy for? My best girls of course. It's with them where I really can go ham and have fun with it. My ladies have seen me in every state imaginable. They are the girls who have sat on kitchen floors drinking wine with me till 4 in the morning, loaded me in to taxis with cash when I've forgetten my PIN, and made me tea and biscuits when I've had a bad day. If anyone needs a treat this festive season it's my best gals, but what do you get the girls who have everything?
