Helen Ruth: Lore of the Land

At the very core of it, Helen Ruth's latest collection is about story telling. "Lore of the Land" is a love letter of sorts to traditional Scottish folklore, weaving together some of her favourite traditional tales from around her area. From jealous sisters, to mermaids, to deals with the devil, Helen Ruth's latest collection explores the very best of Scottish fairytales for a truly fantastical collection with a delicious dark undercurrent throughout.

Bad Girls Do It Well

"Live fast, die young, bad girls do it well."  I'm all about embracing the dark side to the point that I'm not quite sure I have an alternative. I've never been one for the light and frothy (excluding the obvious: kittens and candy floss) so if it ain't broke, why fix it? Halloween is one of my favourite time of years, allowing me to truly give in to the witchy goodness, and we can all do with a little bit more spook in our day today. "If in doubt, freak them out" right?

Triumph: Cause Shapewear Can be Sexy

As a self proffesed lingerie addict, underwear remains one of the biggest outgoings when shopping. At the end of the day, you can't build a house on sand, and there is no better foundation for an outfit than really killer underwear. Triumph are one of the oldest lingerie brands in the world (and still completely self owned) create everything from beautiful intricate lingerie to super comfortable bras for bigger busts. What really has got me going though? Their shapewear.

Bee Waits Loves: Natalie Dawson

It's a mash up of cultures. Think of it as 50's teen fashion meets mexican old world, and you'll get something close to Natalie Dawson's inaugral collection "Frida is a Punk." Already a fast favourite with Confetti Crowd and How Two Live, Natalie Dawson's graduate collection is the perfect send up of fashion, art and music, all centred round the idea of a modern day teenage Frida Kahlo.

Citizen M: Business, Pleasure and Rediscovering your city

Chain hotels so desperatly want to encapsulate the feel of boutique hotel, but few get it right. Few also manage to juggle the being a destination for city breaks and bussiness trips, but some how, Citizen M do it. Stripped back, casual, with a focus on the things that matter (really great beds, waterfall showers and a great location) Citizen M manage to be perfectly metropolitan without feeling contrived. Basically, it's fast become my hotel of choice when I'm away for bid'ness or fancy exploring a city.

The fact of the matter is, unless you are planning some romantic getaway with room service and roll top baths, you really shouldn't be spending that much time in your room. Cities are for exploring, hotels are for resting, and Citizen M cuts right through the faff of weird biscuits and trouser presses with a focus on what matters for those who fancy a bit of exploring.

5 Beauty Products that are worth the hype

When everyone unaminously goes crazy for a product my first reaction is to call bullshit. They say that many people can't be wrong, but hell, "People like Coldplay and and voted for Hitler. You can't trust people."  Except, when you can.

I tend to wait till the hype calms down before I try a product, but even if it's acheived a comfortable cult like status,  getting me to buy in to something so universally beloved it like trying to draw blood from a stone. In short, it better be good. Hell, better than good. If you hype something up that much it better be nothing short of miraculous. And you know what? Some of these products are.  And so here it is, my Top 5 Beauty Products that are actually worth the hype.

LFW: Jamie Wei Huang SS16

Rebirth, afterlife and demonology may not seem like the most obvious thematic choice for a sports luxe collection, but for Jamie Wei Huang's SS16, the ideology blends seemlessly.  Inspired by a Buddhist sence of the afterlife - Nibbana - Wei Huang blends old world mythology with contemporary cuts and lines for a truly striking runway show.
