Byres Road was/is still one of my favourite haunts, but in the last 10 years, it's like there has been a near constant rotation of different shops. Our high street is loosing it's vibrancy. With the shift to online shopping, I guess it shouldn't come as much of a suprise, however I'd hate to see our high streets loose their vibrancy and it seems like pop up shops are the way to get the best of both worlds. I love a good rummage and let's face it, you can't beat browsing through the rails. Clicking through your browser just doesn't quite measure up.
I'm actually heavy excited about this guy because after heaving a deek on both the Think Boutique and Rapu Nui Gallery websites I've got a Christmas list as long as my arm for pretty much everyone in my life. Eco friendly, stylish and sourced from U.K based artists - it's two of my favourite things - fashion and art under one roof.
Eco friendly, pocket friendly and without sacrificing style - this is exactly what Glasgow needs on the run up to Christmas (and just on our streets in general.) Other than stocking some utter delights that are perfect for stocking fillers (this pug broach from Rapu Nui is AMAZING) and I'm already fantisising about how I could wear these wool culottes from Think Boutique.
Located at 112 Byres Road, the pop up will be open from the 21st of November - 21st of December. With family friendly activities, live fashion mannequins and a few other tricks up their sleeves/rabbits under their hats, Think Boutique & Rapu Nui's latest pop up sounds like it's going to be utterly killer.
